Forest and Swamp Chronicles

African Leopard

The African leopard is a versatile and powerful predator found in a variety of habitats, from dense rainforests to open savannas. Renowned for their stealth and adaptability, leopards are solitary hunters that rely on their acute senses of hearing and sight to stalk prey. Once they make a kill, they often drag it into trees to keep it safe from scavengers like hyenas.

These big cats are opportunistic feeders, preying on animals ranging from antelope to rodents. Their incredible climbing skills and agility make them one of the most formidable predators in the wild. Despite their adaptability, leopards face threats from habitat loss, human-wildlife conflict, and illegal hunting for their beautiful spotted coats.

Conservation organizations are working to establish protected areas and educate communities on the importance of preserving these magnificent animals.
