Bengal Tiger
Bengal tigers are among the most famous and iconic big cats, known for their striking orange coats with bold black stripes. They inhabit a wide range of ecosystems, including tropical forests, mangrove swamps, and grasslands in India and Bangladesh. Bengal tigers are solitary and territorial, often marking their range with scent to ward off other tigers.
As apex predators, they primarily hunt deer, wild boar, and other large mammals. Their powerful legs and sharp claws make them highly efficient hunters, capable of taking down prey much larger than themselves. Bengal tigers are also excellent swimmers, often crossing rivers and streams in search of food.
Despite being a symbol of strength and beauty, Bengal tigers face severe threats from habitat loss, poaching, and human-wildlife conflict. Conservation projects such as "Project Tiger" in India have been instrumental in stabilizing their population, but continuous efforts are needed to ensure their survival.
